So I'm not usually a blogger but found myself at home tonight - with internet finally! (moved to Redwood City the other month but have been lagging on getting internet) - and am currently waiting for a hard drive to format.
Basically, I'm a musician (who isn't these days?). I've been playing bass since I was 15 but decided to take a small break for about 2 years while I was going to school in the evenings and working 2 jobs. Recently, I've been getting into guitar synthesizers (pics pending - these are guitars with pretty retro-advanced electronics like a keyboard from the 1980's) and am in this on-again/off-again industrial band., I just played rhythm guitar but now I'm getting more into lead/melody work.
I've also picked up a ProToolsLE 002 recording interface for recording. I still haven't had a chance to use it but will hopefully do so within the next few days or so; I've been running into issues with the computer. I made a computer from scratch - which is working fine - but ended up installing Windows XP which is not a bad thing, but I am used to using either Mac OS X or Linux. Anyway, I'm still getting used to navigating XP and the journey has been uneventful aside from having to load all these secondary software/updates/service packs just to get the computer up to speed to run the recording software.
I'm hoping to record. I really like industrial/electronic and rock hybrids - Razed in Black, Zeromancer, KMFDM, etc... - so this is the musical direction I'm gravitating towards.
I'll be posting some pictures up of my current guitar setup and recording area sooner or later - stay tuned!
