I'm currently obsessed with Frank Black's cover of Dirty Old Town, which is funny because the first version I heard of the song was last Saturday performed by Suicide Jack who I mentioned in my last journal. It was completely accidental that I heard them in that order because I picked up the Frank Black album a couple of weeks ago, heard the song performed by the band live, and then heard the song on the album. It's a great song and it gets bonus points for being written by an English socialist. Also, I really wish I had seen Frank Black when he was in town a few weeks ago. His solo stuff is surprisingly pretty good. I was afraid it was going to be total crap.
I'm making a buttload of vegan food for Thanksgiving tomorrow and I'm probably going to be the only one eating it. Score. (the food, I mean. I have people to hang out with) What are you other veggie types having for Thanksgiving? I'm making tofurkey, mashed potatoes, dressing, and chocolate pie.

And as much as I love the Pixies and the Breeders, I've never gotten into Frank Black's solo stuff (although I saw an acoustic solo set he did at Easy Street Records that was freaking AWESOME.
