So, I don't wanna get too wrapped up in typing tis because I'm expecting to get a call back pretty soon regarding what I'm about to tell you. LOL
BUT! On Saturday some really stupid shit went down between me and my boss. Basically, she thinks I'm stupid and won't call her out on her shit. I called in sick on Saturday. The reason is irrelevant. The assistant manager I spoke with told me that was fine and to get better. Well, about an hour later, my crazy cunt boss had her call me back. She said that I either needed to come in or that I needed to provide a doctors note. I proceeded to tell her that I wasn't going to come in and I don't have health insurance and they don't pay me enough to go pay a doctor $100 so I have no way of getting a doctors note. The conversation went back and forth for about 5 minutes and then I was told that I was being taken off the schedule until I could provide them with a doctors note.
I love that they think we're stupid.
Well in speaking with family and friends over this weekend, I learned that the labor laws state that a doctors note cannot be requested from an employee unless they have called in sick for 3 consecutive shifts. Which, by the way, I haven't. And furthermore, my job there cannot be threatened based on me calling in for ONE day. My step dad spoke with his attorney this morning and they believe I have basis for a law suit.
Honestly, my intentions at this moment in time are not to sue the company for shit. BUT, this shit has GOT to stop. She pulls this kind of crap all the time and frankly, I have reached my limit.
So, before I do anything, I wanted to speak with someone at HR regarding the company's policy. I placed a call to the head of HR briefly describing my situation and left a message for him, as he was out of the office. I really hope to hear something back soon just because I want to actually talk to him and give him a better idea of what all has been going on with management in my store.
I have talked to a few former employees that I am still friends with who quit because of the same boss I am having issues with. They all say they would write statements and back me up and that I should absolutely file a law suit. I have a lawyer in mind who I know who take the case and only charge me if I won or received a settlement. But, I sort of want to talk to HR first and see what they have to say about the behavior that has been happening and most importantly, I want to know where they stand on what happened on Saturday.
To be completely honest, if my boss wants to try to take me down like that, I'm going to take her down with me.
In the meantime since I have been removed from the schedule until I can provide a doctors note, which isn't going to happen....
I have contacted an excellent temp agency! I used this agency years and years ago actually and got my first mortgage job through them! So, I called them up, sent them all my info and they said they would be calling me soon with some more info on moving forward to a new job! I really really REALLY hope that they can find me something soon. Not just because I NEED it for money/stability/etc, but because I am BEYOND DONE with my current job. FUCKING SOOOOOOOOOOO DONE! lol So wish me luck with that. I actually feel pretty confident about it, so we'll see.
As far as the rest of my life goes, it's going alright...
Things with Jesse are the same (though I wish things were progressing a little faster, I'm still pretty happy).
I went and saw Yanni last night with my dad and his friends and we went backstage and met and hung out with the band whch was actually kind of amazing. I know I don't look like the Yanni type, and to be honest, I had never listed to a single Yanni song before last night. But it was pretty fantastic! I have pictures but no time to upload them at the moment.
I met an awesome tattoo legend at my work last week who inspired me to get back to my artwork so I'm hoping that happens soon.
Well, I think I'm going to take care of a couple chores t keep me busy until the HR guy calls me back. Wish me luck!
