Okay, so bear with; us Polytheist/Animists totally eat this kind of shit UP...it's STILL National Moth Week.
Wow! The Peoples of the Sky really got together and did something special in honor of their nocturnal flitterers on this, the Thursday of their special week....
The Moth Lords are verrrrrrrry pleased, I'm sure!
The day started out cloudy, with no real rain, but an intermittent misting that felt GREAT...
Then, about 6:45pm-ish, it started to rain in earnest, and there were some nice Thunder peals, too.
I was digging it from the second story all-seasons porch...
Then...as the eerily bright Storm waned, there was a rainbow!!!
As soon as I saw chefdaddy's wife post that it was there on facebook, I ran down the stairs, out into the back yard, and took a few pics with my phone. Then I ran back upstairs and got my daughter out of bed like a fire drill (I'd sent her to bed early because of extremely disrespectful sass), and we went out the front. I grabbed my camera at some point in the scramble...
It was a double, full rainbow, but towards the top of the arch it was almost triple; there was another green, blue, and purple stripe under the primary rainbow.
Point and shoot pics can NEVER capture the vividness of rainbows well, but I got these, anyway:
The Twilight Threshold was celebrated with a beautifully rosy sunset... *contented sigh*
Not bad for a Thursday, for SURE!!! Oh, and earlier in the day I won fifty bucks on a two dollar scratch-off lottery ticket. Yay Thursday!!!
