Yet another one day weekend has come to its endgame, and yet again it was a WILD one.
Saturday night was a blast; my girlfriend and our mutual friend came over LATE (like midnight). Our mutual friend cuts hair, and she gave me a much needed trim. My gf is a professional massage therapist/reiki practitioner/instructor, and she brought her table, lotions and oils. It was a good time that lasted until about 6am...
Today, chefdaddy texted me that him and his daughters were headed out to the Merwin Nature Preserve (a Parklands Foundation site), so my daughter and I joined them for an Autumnal hike in the woods by the Mackinaw River. It was a most excellent way to spend an afternoon, and we even managed to startle a big ol' deer (a buck that must have been an eight-pointer), despite the ruckus the three girls were making. If that buck ever wanders beyond the protection of the Preserve, I imagine he's dead meat... *rolls eyes*
It sucks that the photo uploader here seems to be on the fritz again. I'll have to add the photos I have to share from the hike as an "addendum blog" later...
Thinking back on how much fun and smiling I've squished into the past several one day weekends, I'm fairly certain that a two day weekend would explode my head. I hope to test this theory sometime before November...
Which brings me to the porch, the acoustic show on public radio, and the nagging certainty that there should be more bluegrass songs about Cthulhu. *plays air banjo*
