OMG.... AMANDA PALMER FUCKING KISSED ME!!!!!!

Now that that's out of the way... CD101 Day was the greatest thing I have done in quite a while. It's a big event put on by a local radio station. This one featured six bands, I think. Ash was among them and I thought they were cool. I found the Bravery excellent. Streetspirit and I sat outside while Ben Lee was doing his thing, and then it was time for the DOLLS! The Dresden Dolls!

While I'm not a drummer myself, my fascination with Neil Peart has made me look at them in a slightly different way. Brian could give Neil a run for his money. Not only are Brian's skills exceptional with the sticks, but his ability to mime while he bangs out the beats puts him in a league of his own. The Dolls stuck around after the show, and I got to thank them for coming to Columbus. I also thanked them for producing such an original, refreshing style. It was the first time I had gotten to tell a musician anything like that. I gave Amanda a hug and she kissed me on the cheek. That provided a bit of a high, I must admit. I felt a little stupid because I'm sure she does that with everyone, but what the Hell. On top of being beautiful, she's one of the most intelligent and talented musicians I have ever seen. There are just not enough real women in music these days.
