Sunday Blog About Life
So. I am alive, feeling better, and SUPER excited about returning to Cross Fit on Monday!!
Worked out this week twice with my friend Devon, of Sharkbone (RPG Podcast) fame. The surgery site got a tad "sore" like a cramp, but outside that, it's all good. This week should be a full 6 days of workouts!! I am so charged up to get this weight off. Crossfit will be MetCons for a bit on M - W - F, and Devon and I will be doing cardio-focused stuff Tue - Thur - Sat. The equipment at my apartment gym is painful to use, so I want to discuss some options with Devon. Maybe nab some bike's?
Back to the FULL Paleo routine with my eating. Was not happy with how I felt eating Oats and Legumes. It's remarkable the effect dropping cereals, legumes, and dairy has on your health! My asthma's better, acne is going away, more energy, regularity, the list goes on. Anytime I "cheat", I break out and want to take a nap. It's like my body is screaming at me to stick with it. I made some Paleo chili and chicken cachatori (sp?) for lunches. One batch of each provides two weeks of lunches! Mixed nuts ARE expensive. I'm trying to stick to fruit for desert, and only tap into the mixed nuts when I really need a snack. Also, Wholefoods is a great market for grass-fed, free range, non-GMO meat and veggies. Very happy I have one nearby!
Here are some resources that I'm finding SUPER helpful for both info and inspiration;
Nerd Fitness
The Paleo Diet - Loren Cordain, PH.D. I bought a membership here and received the book with my signup. I'm reading it now!
Here's a picture of me currently. I want to take more so I have a record of my weight loss. This isn't pretty folks, but my goal is to be slimmer soon! (276 pounds, 48% body fat).
Starting up a weekly Sunday game with Mongoose Legend set in the Age of Treason: The Iron Simulcrum setting. This game is RuneQuest II with the Glorantha scrubbed out. One of our players is out on family celebrations and another was sick, so I had to cancel this week. We should be able to get started next week! Here's a few pictures of the setup and stuff I prepped.
I am really digging this setting. Poke around the internets and take a look at some of the stuff. You can read more about the setup with links at theRPGsite.
Next week's blog should be full of weigh loss, better vibes and a game report!!
