SETTING : Baltimore, MD - Level I Trauma Center at the University of Maryland
PLOT : Multiple Traumatic Injuries caused by being an idiot at the wrong time.
It was a cold day in Baltimore, Several weeks after the Juarez fiasco, I ended up saving all three interpol agents whether they wanted to or not. It wasn't the Juarez Cartel they were chasing, but a couple of small-time lamebrain drug pushers. As I walk down the street, I see a car losing control and careens straight into me for no apparent reason. I don't even know how I remember it, but I remember it vividly. I remember being carted off on a stretcher, legs broken and bones sticking out of my skin, I felt extreme pain on my insides, like internal bleeding and some shit like that. I remember writhing in agony, hurting so bad. Then I saw a bunch of doctors working on me, I don't know how I was able to stay awake and alert after all that, I felt every little needle and every poke as they jabbed IV lines into me and tried to get me calm down. About after a few hours, I was in a room, metal braces on my legs, IV lines sticking out of my arm, a bandage on my head. I sat in that bed wondering what the hell happened. Then a nurse comes in, (ENTER : Sheena) She wore glasses, had tattoos all over her arms, she was a definite cutie, and that was putting it lightly. She had the face of an angel, her gaze alone could make you feel better.
"How do you feel?"
"I'm in pain, but I'm ok.
She checked my vitals, and told me to sit tight for a while. She left. I felt a little sad when she left. Never had I seen someone so beautiful. The next day, I could move my legs, I felt no pain, and I had recovered completely. One day earlier I was lying a pool of blood with two broken legs and multiple internal injuries. So I tested my strength and agility, they all came back, even stronger than before. The same pretty nurse who came to check me out earlier to make sure I was doing ok was a little shocked when she saw me doing push ups on the floor.
"What are you doing? You'll hurt yourself more!"
"I feel fine"
"Let me see, sit up on the bed.
She took my vitals, saw that I could my legs freely, felt no pain inside. Her small shock became a huge frightened gaze into my eyes.
"Don't be scared of me, I heal fast, even severe injuries can't keep me down."
I held her hand to make her not feel scared of me.
"Really, I'm ok."
The Doctor came in to check me out throughly, (ENTER: Ember), another lady, pretty like the last one, even she was shocked that I could heal so fast. She drew blood from me to test it, as the doctor and the nurse left the room, I knew it was my time to get out of there, I could not let anyone except medical personnel know I had an accelerated healing factor that gave me ability to recover from even the most severe of injuries in a day. I grabbed my coat, my blade, and my cell phone, and got ready to go. Then the nurse comes in and sees me trying to leave
"Where are you going? You can't leave like this!
"Sorry, I'm not about to be written in a medical journal having the ability to heal quickly. Please, don't tell anyone else, this can never the leave the walls of this place, should anyone find out, bad things can happen, to me, to anyone I've come across."
Reluctantly, she lets me go. I probably will never see her again, that angelic face of hers is etched into my mind for all eternity...
