Saturday morning: here in the office, minimizing the window every time an employee walks by my office as I check out these amazing-looking girls.
I feel well rested. I prolly look like hell, though. Been hearing the "You look tired!" comments a little more frequently these days. Working 13 hours a day will do that to ya, folks, sorry I can't be the young, vibrant, enigmatic young fella every day.
Last weekend was hell on earth in the restaurant...my gawd. Actually, it was ok thoughout the weekend. Sunday was the capper.
Imagine, if you can, a smallish restaurant in a hotel getting bumrushed all of a sudden, and there's nothing you can do about it. Ok? Not too bad, we're busy alluvasudden, whatever.
NOW imagine that the head honchos of the Dr. Who convention that's been going on throughout the weekend demand tables for 40 people, all to order off the menu (pain in the ass), all to have separate checks (MAJOR pain in the ass), and my task is to SHOEHORN them into this filled-to-capacity restaurant. Fuuuun. Add the fact that they aren't exactly the most entiely social group ever. This convention is the peak of their year and the one time they get to socialize.
And on top of THAT, we have a tour group of 19 Japanese tourists that are to have dinner UNDER CONTRACT. And that it was raining, they all...come...at...once.
Miserable.
I'm muuuch better now.
I hope my little SG bartending student Skylar comes in on Monday! It's the last class she tells me she has to take and I miss her!
I'm soooo stoked! We have brand new bartending textbooks. Since I've worked there, we've had to pencil in new recipes and tell our students to do the same. The new textbooks have EVERY EXTRA RECIPE typed out...yay! No more pausing and saying "Ok, guys...write this down...blahblahblahblahblahblah..."
Can't wait.
The girl's been busy the last week, entertaining a friend from NY who flew out here, in addition to working on an acting job for the DIY Channel. Some greenscreen thing. Sounds cool.
I wanna go into it more, but I've gotta get back to work. A little more later.
