Had a WoW-intensive weekend and now I'm nocturnal again. I liked it better when it coincided with full moons... uh, is there a full moon? I stopped looking, and I doubt I could tell with British weather being what it is.
Parts of the country are so flooded right now, some people have no tap water. Funny how that works.
A while back I was wearing my 'bad samaritan' hoodie in town and a woman kept clearing her throat whenever she looked at me. I considered going up to her and saying "Excuse me ma'am, could I talk to you a moment about sex, drugs and rock'n'roll?" but I didn't want to shatter her fragile psyche.
I've been reading a book. A new book that I have never read before, which is quite an event. The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova. It has Dracula in it. Sort of. I'm not sure he's actually put in an appearance yet, but people talk about him an awful lot.
Someone keeps calling my landline and not leaving a message. Today they called, hung up and called right back so they could not leave me a message all over again. I've tried it from my cellphone, they can definitely leave a message if they want to.
When it started, my answering machine said "You have reached the number you just dialed, owned by the person you are trying to reach. Unfortunately, I'm ignoring you right now, so leave a message and I'll get back to you... whenever I notice there's a message. Which might be a while. Good luck with that, by the way. Have a nice day!"
Since the person, who apparently lives in fear of having their voice recorded, started bugging me, I changed it to "Addendum to previous message: however, calling repeatedly and never leaving a message is certain to get noticed. I will never respond to that, partly because you don't leave a message so I can get back to you, but mostly because it pisses me off. If you need to talk to me so badly, call my cellphone. If you don't have the number of my cellphone, I probably don't want to talk to you anyway."
This afternoon it now simply says "Leave a message or stop calling." I think I'll be asking Virgin to discontinue the phone line as well as the cable TV. I never use either of them anymore, anyway.
