Ooh, a new blog...
Why - because it's been a while and I've made an effort to start using my exercise bike, I've started writing again and... why not!
So I'm back into the screen play. When I fired up the actual document it hadn't been edited since last October, which is bad on my part - although I have been making notes using another programme. Hopefully now I've got it to kick-start into the plot on page 5 or 6 (after a small intro) and I'm really happy with how I want to keep going (and it doesn't scare me as much as it has before).
And seeing as I'm over weight I've made sure I've used my exercise bike for the last few days (only 5-10 mins per day, which isn't much - but I get a sweat on and can feel the heart pumping, so small steps and all that). Now for a sensible eating plan (not a diet, just eating sensibly).
Unfortunately on Friday a colleague was made redundant, (my bosses boss) someone who'd become a bit of a mentor to me and who was supporting what I've been doing at work, and who also chatted about good films and film making with me a lot. I'm keeping in touch with him (and perhaps he could put me in touch with useful people in the future) but seeing as my company makes sales based decisions then his position there was no longer needed and he couldn't be found another job. A real shame, and perhaps a missed opportunity for the company, but we'll see. I'll definitely miss him being around there though.
Also, as per usual, Vinyl has been a distraction of late. Trying to do a mix tape/CD as a 'calling card' for DJing around the town, but can't decide on the 70min line up. It has such music as Barbarella Soundtrack, Psych Rock, DJ Shadow, Gorillaz, Metric, New Order, Daft Punk, Peaches, old school hip hop and electro at al, but trying to work out the order etc is a pain as I'm so indecisive when it comes to set lists.
I hope anyone reading is well and finds something here of interest.
Onwards and Upwards,
M.
