So it's gone really cold this afternoon. I might have to put the heating on in the flat (but am a bit scared as not done that before so hopefully it won't break down or leak or something that means calling plumbers out or whatever).
Apart from that, I've had quite a productive day (inspired by Mallory's blog of yesterday). I managed to tidy the flat up, putting unwanted stuff in the garage (been meaning to do it for a few weeks), I did a little bit of writing, sorted some banking stuff out, vacuumed, washed clothes, made the kitchen pretty much spick and span and then did a little bit of surfing. I even managed to sort out my copy of Clean 4.0 so I can record vinyl onto CD and clean up the odd pops and crackles (though I'm no closer to doing the mix cds I've told people about - I can do that next week).
And then tonight I'm at a pub quiz with a new friend - and so will be meeting her friends for the first time a well as doing my first pub quiz (something I've somehow avoided all this time, but not on purpose).
And then back to work tomorrow, but I do have Friday off so I can go to Grand Designs Live and add more to my imaginary multi million pound house I hope to build one day. Looking forward to it as been to one before and got to pick up lots of brochures. And picking up brochures and leaflets is one of those things I've been doing since I was a kid, and still enjoy.
And one last thing - I've started my Xmas shopping already. How impressive is that? And what have I bought - a record that I will transfer on to CD as it has never been re-released since the 70s and I know my Dad would love a copy (his vinyl copy is pretty old and jumps a bit, and not having a record deck any more means he won't expect to listen to it this xmas). And as for what the record is - "Musica Per La Notte Di Natale" by Thijs van Leer who was behind Holland's "Focus", one of the great prog rock bands from the 70s, but where Thijs plays flute rather than having a lead guitarist!
