But in a fun way
So I went to Brentanos today...15% coupon in hand and intent on buying a Hunter S Thompson book which, thankfully, they had. It was The Rum Diary in case you are curious. As I was leaving I noticed a slim little Gustav Klimt book. It was only 4.99 and had great pictures and more importantly, his life story (If Im going to buy a book about an painter it HAS to talk to the person, otherwise the pictures are just pretty works of art instead of an extension of their life experiences at the time they were painted....which is always the most facinating part of any painter's work) so I picked that up as well, it didnt take too much coaxing, I LOVE Klimt.
So I walk up to the cash register (coupon in hand rememeber) and plopped down my books. Pre coupon it came to about 17 bucks. After coupon...17.58?!
The coupon took off .75 and then CA tax put back on 1.34.......
remind me next time not to bother
Later: Its Friday and I just found out that John Ritter and Johnny Cash are dead. Normally I would mourne Johnny-one of my favorite artists ever, But the sudden death of John Ritter is too shocking to ignore.
