No updates for a while, so I'll let you in on the newest.
Rob and I have gone to several shows, among them, the Koffin Kats, who are fabulous live and are very nice guys. The venue was shitty as hell, and looked like a flop house, but the show was great. This was the first time they've played around here (the show was in Joplin, MO) and I think they were just psyched that so many people came to see them. Special thanks to Brutally Frank for talking them into coming!
We also went and saw Social Distortion, thanks to one of my friends/tattoo client. I did two SD tattoos on her (a line of sheet music for "Time of My Life" and the dancing skeleton) so she decided to buy Rob and I tickets to the show. Her whole point of going was to get Mike Ness to sign her arm so she could have me tattoo it on her. He did sign her arm, and said he loved the tattoos she already had (HUGE compliment to me ) and she didn't shut up about it the whole four hour ride home. That bit was kinda annoying, but I'm glad she got it. It made her cry when he signed her arm.
I am tattooing my ass off most of the time, and much progress is being made on Rob's arm. Lucky bastard. It sucks to be a tattoo artist and not have time to get any ink, but to work on your boyfriend all the time. Ah well. I'm probably going to Ft. Worth to Liberty Electric Tattoos to get my old-school Lady Luck half sleeve. The owner Carl did a fucking wonderful job on my candle on the inside of my arm.
I'm so impressed, I will end up driving for 8 hours just to get more work done by him. Probably two or three times, depending on how long I can sit in that fucking chair getting my arm needled. It will be worth it in the end, cuz he's a badass. Check them out--Liberty Electric Tattoos!!
