Last night was the Miss Exotic Oregon finals... I was not crowned the winner but 1rst runner up feels just as good. I woke up this morning feeling the immediate urge to write my thoughts and feelings about last night.
Every competitor always goes into a competition wanting to win. I did competition gymnastics/ cheerleading for most of my life. I'm not going to lie to you all I was quite crushed when I didn't win. Especially when I was told the scoring was so close. People kept asking how I felt about it and I didn't really have an answer.
If came off as Petty to anyone last night, That was not my intention. Trying to be gracious about not winning is always a hard pill to swallow. After being up for hours and being emotionally/ mentally exhausted I needed rest to clarify my thought.
So here are my thoughts about last night.
I highly respect the winner. Anyone who knows me, knows that. The winner of Miss Exotic Oregon 2016 is my dearest friend Ivizia Dakini. One of my favorite entertainers in Portland. I knew she would be a tough act to beat. Because she truly is one of the best entertainers I know. She is the reason I worked as hard as I did on this competition. To be the best you have to compete with the best. So knowing our scores were so close is enough satisfaction for me. For all of you who didn't see her she looked so beautiful and radiant on the stage last night.
*On another note I thought it should be known when I learn fire the "Toxvzia" show will be happening. Her and I have chatted about it.
It's easy to get caught up in competition... we all want to win, that's a fact. I competed last night against 20 extremely talented women. The competition was very stiff this year with talent from all over Portland. Many of these women I admire. Some had never competed before, and some were masters of their craft.
Some of my favorite highlights were
*2nd runner up was Miss Exotic Oregon 2014 Brodie Grody (Devils Point) who did an insane set based off "Legend". Her body paint/prosthetic costuming was so legit.
*Clementine Darling (Kit Kat Club) did a Moulin Rouge set and the costuming was down to a T! It was so awesome
*Hazel Grace (Devils Point) who did a breaking bad set. She was very graceful with her perfect toe point. She also had one of my bestest friends Pixie ass her hot "drug dealer."
*Layne Fawkes (Kit Kat Club). Layne is a wonderful dancer. I frequent Kit Kat Club time to time and she is a favorite of mine to watch. I love the way her dancing just flows.
*Lyric Allure who always performs something unique and it's always memorable.
*JORDAN FOXXX because of that ass good lawd *praise*
*Annie & Gypsy for being so sweet. <3
What I liked about this year was it really kept you on your toes. Thank you ladies for making me work harder than ever. It was amazing and humbling to share the stage with such talent.
Now to talk about my performance. I wanted to do this performance for over a year... Okay lets be honest since I was 11 years old and saw "Bring It On" for the first time. Being able to do a routine you are passionate about and with people who are into it just as much as you. It's an amazing feeling. I wanted to give a special thanks to my entertainers Naomi, Harley, Ivy aka:Harlow, Sathera Sin, and Ashton.
These ladies are my closet friends and believe me doing this routine was one of the most fun experiences of my life. SPIRIT DICK 4 EVA!!!!
*LUCKY DEVIL LOUNGE & Shon Bolden for the on going support.
*A special Thank you OREGON BLUEPRINT for making our signs and other performance props.
*Amy Elizabeth Couture for the amazing costumes!!!
* Malcolm Flowers & Loren cutler for photos I used for campaigning
*Dan Rickey for the awesome video we made
I had so much support as well! From my family (my mom was there cheering me on), My performers, My Club owners, and friends. Without you I wouldn't have been able to put on the show I did. I am so proud of the performance we did. It was perfect in every way. THANK YOU PORTLAND FOR LETTING ME SHOW YOU WHAT DO! I am an entertainer and I loved every minute of that stage last night.
So yeah book me for shows Portland because that it what I really want to do... I do shows... and stuff :)!
I LOVE YOU!
*I will be donating a portion of my 2nd place prize money/stage tips from last night to Sassy's charity event for our sister in clear heels Maybe's recovery fund. She recently has been battling a rare autoimmune disease. I hope you will all join us at the fundraising event DECEMBER 11TH & 12TH. More details to come. If you would like to donate anything to this event (Time, money, etc) please let me know.
To quote Bring it on "Second Place, Feels like first."
Thank you Dick Hennessy & Exotic Magazine for letting me be able to show Portland my stuff. I know it's hard to run a competition this big.
Thank you all for being so fabulous. Thank you for reading! THANK GOD IT'S OVER BECAUSE I NEED A VACATION ;) <3
But seriously who wants to take me on vacation! xoxoxoxo, your Toxy
