I turned down a job that started off looking like a pretty pimp deal that ended up revealing itself to be quite the opposite. originally I was to be an Asset Protection Manager for a new home improvement "mini-mart" recently bought out by The Home Depot. It would be a solo gig, with me deciding what the rules in the store were going to be and enforcing them in any way I saw fit. A vacation compared to the nightmare of a normal Depot store that sees 22.5k transactions a week. Eventually the truth came out; I wouldn't exactly be a manager, just a glorified agent...and I would have to travel around the district at a moments notice...San Jose, Concord, Pittsburgh, San Pablo and Alamo. Not to mention these stores are a pilot program, so everything I did would be under a microscope, and should anything fail i'm the one that takes the fall.
I'll stay in my frying pan, thank you. The fire's not looking all that nice.
