Just found out my mother has breast cancer. This is completely out of the blue, she has surgery early next week and I'm stuck hundreds of miles away. Apparently they caught it early though, so my biggest worry is that she has to go through chemotherapy, which I know very little about. How long does that usually last if they succeed in removing the tumor without it spreading, and how dangerous are the side-effects?
My grandmother and aunt both died of breast cancer... but they caught it early, so that's really good, right?
