So I got laid off. It was so unexpected. I went to work one day, then I had a day off, and then my place of employment wasn't there anymore. Crazy because I had worked for that bitch of a woman I called my boss for four years and I had practically run the store, did all the ordering of product, etc..she never even had to come in the store. Then she calls me one night and says, "They want to raise our rent so we have to shut the store down." I say, "Ok when?" she says, "tonight, don't come to work tommorrow, but I'll pay you for the rest of the week."...what a lifesaver, those three extra days of pay will surely sustain me. But although it was a really crappy thing to do, I can't help but walk with a lighter air in my step, I wake up in the mornings feeling a little bit more relaxed, all around, I'm happier. Because the fact of the matter is, I have wanted to quit for years, I hated that job, it made me hate people in general, but I never quit b/c it seemed too simple, too good of a job while I am in school...so I could never justify it. But now, well now this Tony Hoagland line keeps going through my head, "But me, I have this strange conviction I am going to be born."...And yeah, I think it is true.

I'm pretty embarrased about the whole thing. Like I said, guilty pleasure. I'm not gonna run out and buy the record, it just caught my ear.
I'm not sure how my Aunt hooked up with that lady, but they're both fine. I guess my Aunt's kidney is working like a charm in its new home and the now lone one in my Aunt is pickin' up the slack with no problems. I was rather impressed with her.
How's the work sit'ation?
