Do you know about the SG Member Music Project? The idea is (over a six month period) to compile music recorded by members of SG. As a Regional Group owner, do you have musicians (including but not limited to members in bands) in your group who would be interested in making and submitting some music for this project? The focal point of such musical activity ought to be (at least to begin with) in the Regional Groups, as they will be the best places for musically inclined folks to get together and interact.
As owner of a Regional Group, what can you do? Two things immediately. First, you can start by making sure musically active members of your group are aware of the project and keen to contribute. Second, encourage one of those musicians to take on the role of representing your group, and get them to notify me that they will be representing your group, and to apply to join the Member Music Project group. As soon as I know theyre representing your group I will let them in.
If you as a Regional Group owner think this is a good idea, but you yourself are not musical, please understand that you nonetheless have a crucial role to make sure your group is involved and represented in the Member Music Project group.
