Anyone who has paid attention to serious political dissidents of the world knows that they've been warning men about this behavior of western governments for decades and any man who's engaged in political activism on a serious level will be quite familiar with the fact that the government will assign him "girlfriends" whom he may or may not later discover actually are government agents:
"See the slinky seal cirkus policemen, bareback ladies have fish..."
Ultimately, that's one of the major things I love about Joss Whedon - he'll try to blow the whistle by throwing in things based in reality in his shows... like in "Dollhouse" where several main male characters are assigned women to spy on them.
