Allright,
Blog Homework for the week that @rambo just posted on the blog!
First of all, I just want to say I LOVE this topic. These are the kinds of conversations I have deeply with people in intimate moments.
For me, respect is a multitude of things depending on your relationship with someone.
For example, someone I don't know I would easily define respect to be acknowledgement, listening, and regular 'manners'.
For someone I do know it's always going to be as a basic bone structure as honesty, even if it's rude. If we know each other and understand each other well enough then I want you to be honest, you can even declare it but please do not lie to me. I understand we, as humans, have little white lies here and there. But with respect and honesty comes trust!
What could you do without trust?
My favorite example of respect is treating another person as you would want to be treated.
Cliche right?
But in my relationship the deepest I can go with it is, I treat his body as I treat my own and vice versa. The reason we can be so intimate and trustworthy with each other's bodies is because we developed a big amount of respect to each other. We look up to each other in certain ways, and want and try to help each other in ways where need improvement.
If you relate or have any other words to say about my definition please comment! I'd love to hear.
xx,
Torro
