8/11 How did you pick your SG username?
The story of how I became Torro is a fun one to tell. First, I'm going to start with how I have been told for the past decade that I look like Kirsten Dunst. If I don't have a stranger tell me that at least once a week then I'm having an odd week.
Some people don't see the resemblance, but most do. I remember flipping through magazines as a teenager and coming across her on a page doing a double take. I would think I saw myself at first glance!
I love this fact because as a kid I was obsessed with the movie Bring It On! I actually became a cheerleader for almost ten years because of the movie.
When middle school hit my teammates would tell me I looked like Torrence. It was such a compliment.
Even after middle school my friends in high school nicknamed me Mary Jane because of the spider man movies with my red hair. (Not because of pot š).
So when I had to choose my SG name, which is more than just a username to me today, I originally went for Torrence. It was unfortunately already taken so I chose the next best thing, Rancho Carne's mascot the Toros. Of course I had to make it my own and I put the two names together by giving it that second R. And BAM now I'm here as Torro.
