Published exactly30 years ago, Alexander Solzhenitsyn's The Gulag Archipelago offers some lines echoing strangely to some current events:
If only things were so simple: it there were some dark places where men with dark souls were committing dark deeds; if the only thing to do was learning to know these men from others, and then suppressing them! But the line parting good from evil parts every man's heart as well. And where are the men who want to destroy parts of their own hearts?
