This journal's going to be a bit of a contrast to the spam porn rant i went on last time... but an interesting contrast i think!
i don't have cable, don't listen to the radio, don't buy mainstream magazines... yet i still feel this assault of mainstream advertising culture is hard to shake.
until today!
it's just been one of those days where you feel like (excuse the simile) you're being hugged by an invisible comforting presence all day. and this, in my experience, is something that only occurs on rainy, cold, cloudy days! there's something just so gorgeously unmarketable about a fall day, a good book, and tom waits' 'closing time'.
*contented sigh*

i moved to portland because my employer pretty much paid me to move...they knew how unhappy i was where i came from, and they really love me so...here i am. i don't have to worry about $ to pay my bills until january when i should be getting back into school...my set up here-my friend owns a house & a room opened up. i took it....it's small, cheap and i can have my dog...it's really exciting!!
