Alright, alright…
The Long-Awaited & Much-Anticipated Update
I had a great time at Origins (the geek convention). It was expensive, but worth it. Sadly several of the items I had been planning to buy weren’t out yet… but I found all new exciting things to blow money on… so it was all good.
My brother and I ended up with the best room in the world. I was a bit late in reserving our room so all they had were rooms with one king sized bed. I was guaranteed a roll-away bed… instead we got a room with a fold-out couch. Which was really cool, because we actually had plenty of room for the nightly board-gaming events with our friends.
…
I’m not entirely sure why I haven’t been posting very much… honestly I think that it is a combination of several things.
For one thing, work has been pretty slow for the last couple of months. Which pretty much burns me out. Stretching four hours of work into eight each day is actually worse than having too much work. It’s hard to look busy. At any rate, by the time I get home, the last thing I want to do is sit in front of the computer.
On the other hand, Emily has had too much work for the past several weeks. She’s been working a ton of overtime. Which means she’s stressed out and depressed. Which makes me stressed out and depressed.
I’ve been catching up on television and movies as well. (“House” is an incredible show). And I’ve been pretty focused on various D&D issues recently.
And lastly, my internet connection royally blows. I’m on a dial-up and it’s been kinda twitchy the last few weeks. Also, I only get ten hours each month. It might be time to just bite the bullet and get some cable modem action.
…
I finally saw Episode III for the third time. Much better than Episode II. Padme only has 7 or 8 outfits in III. I counted. (She has 17 or 18 in II, depending on if you consider the “ripped out midriff” a separate costume from the white bodysuit).
…
I had another interesting Burger King event a few weeks back. The line was held up this time by some crazy woman who was arguing with the manager. Seems crazy woman ordered two Happy Meals and was trying to get some money back by returning the (apparently used) toys. The manager was trying to explain that the Happy Meal costs less than buying a Small Coke, Small Fries, and a Burger separately… essentially you save money and get a free toy. Crazy Woman would have none of this. Eventually the manager gave up and gave her something like 67 cents back.
And Crazy Woman gave this look of triumph! Maybe it’s just me, but 67 cents is just not worth wasting five minutes of my life arguing with some fast food manager.
I mean, seriously, fast food managers deal with too much shit for what they get paid.
…
D&D was “to be continued” last week… which works out pretty well by me. I was having trouble cramming everything into one four-hour event each week. A slower pace will definitely help. And give me extra time.
…
Battlestar Galactica is back. This season is pretty rocking so far. Sadly I haven’t been able to get some sort of group event running to watch it. The first season (with mini-series) is coming out on September 20th. Looks like an expensive week for me. I’ll be picking up House and Lost in the next couple of weeks. There is a part of me that feels like just not watching any TV and buy the shows I think I’ll like on DVD each year. Less commercials that way.
…
I think that’s all for now… I really need to get on a weekly schedule with updating this.

PS: Lolo is really hot. Is there some way to download entire photo sets? Going through the pics one at a time really eats up my time on the net!
