All moved in to the beatnik crashpad on Capital Hill.

Haven't had much time to play, since school finals have just ended. Party tonight 3 blocks away, can't wait to walk home drunk.

Found out Holly Golightly is going to be playing the Larimer Lounge in October. Can't quite wait for that.

Dude, Im at 13th and Ogden, and as for crack dealers, that story is fucking funny, I grew up in Hollywood, and used to see some crazy shit myself..
37 bucks a ticket, damn, now I dont feel so bad, but still, I probably would have paid it too..LOL
Let me know how your friends take your compliments, Im going to start calling my bosses that, see how they react...LOL
aoife:
Everyone who wants to talk about Capitol Hill being scary should be forced to live in New Orleans for a month.

Wimps.

Mr Pacman is the coolest guy to ever wear a Ninetendo Powerglove. Thanks to everyone at 60 South for the fashion show. I got asked to a sex-themed Scrabble party. Life could get a bit more random.

Valentine, is that you that I keep seeing around? Let's see: at the opening at the Wheelbarrow, at the art opening on Colfax/Marion, at the fashion show yesterday...

I can't remember who said this one, but I saw it recently:

"Some people walk in the rain, others just get wet."

One of my favorite American haikus is,

"The bottom of my shoes
are clean
from walking in the rain"

I decided to do away with caffeine for a while. I'm on day #3 of total cold turkey and the headaches keep coming on like little tidal waves.

I painted this one day

tonystheme:
MIne was the triptich near the entrance with all the different colored lines. There's a pedestal to the left with some drawings of the same nature and some wallet sized CD ROMs with this:

animation on them.

Tonight The Buzzcocks are playing at the Bluebird.

I'm trying to figure out if it's worth the few beans to see a middle aged Brit sing, "Orgasm Addict"

Hmm....

Betcha Thomas Edison never waited tables six days a week.
tonystheme:
heh, I bet not, and I bet I'll never have to either. Edison and I are both workaholics.

Hail caffiene!

ohhhh Friday the 13th! I hear Zombies are having a party...

hmm, nevermind about the opening, apparently, they're not going to have one. I thought I saw a pattern: school put's show up, school has opening on that Friday for show - repeat.

I guess my school doesn't want to support their own students that way, but just wants to fill some space.

But! shows up till the 25th, check it out anytime the school's open,...

Which motomen were you guys talking to about philly? That cracks me up that they are recruiting people to go to the show with them when they are not even positive that they got into the festival out there yet (although it is mostly likely a go, I guess they have to prepare). I must have seen you and vice verse since I was with those guys all night (I am almost always with those guys). In fact I let those guys drag me to the most fucked up bar that night... there were a bunch of homeless guys, a dog that walked across the bar, and a crazy lady that gave us drinks that were quite a bit different than what we ordered.

Actually, the phallic piece is made of plastic, but it is a working vibrator set with cz's. biggrin

Halloween is mostly a blur for me as well, I kept sneaking shots under my hood. My friend Vin's costume was crazy that night... He was a pirate but his costume was made from painted cardboard and boxes mostly... he looked like a lego pirate.

I'll try and head down to rmcad and check out your work before it comes down but I must admit that I suck at shit like that... I am a complete and total procrastinator.

Sadly my comp is not a mac... I wish it was since everyone I know has a mac and can fix them but no, I am stupid sony girl...

You should definately make the shirts, I have been wanted to play with those t-shirt transfer from you printer things but have just never gotten around to it...

Yeah, your brother's ink don't look that easy to fake...
Let me know if you head down on Sunday and I will pay more attention than I did at andenken...

There's a student show at my school this Friday, from 7 to 9; if you're looking for something to do, check it out, it's free of course and there'll be things to eat and punch to spike.

I'll have one painting, one triptych and one animation at the show, should be pretty good.

here's the address to the school:

Did you make it to Andenken on Friday? I was there most of the night, I am at Andenken almost all night on first fridays... Diverse Tactics was a good show... I had a piece in the porn show (actually, i think it is still downstairs). The opening for the kinetic show was a good night, I always enjoy playing with the tesla coil and fire with motoman.

This Sunday a friend of mine is having a shindig at Hapa sushi in Cherry Creek, come by if you can... the info for it is as follows... (many of those involved are rmcad grads)

SHERBERT SUSHI SHOWDOWN : ROUND 2
SHERBERT vs. HAPA vs JIM DARLING

SUNDAY JUNE 15th 6pm to midnight
artwork by Jim Darling [Hapas first Art opening and Jims first solo show]

Music by DJ FOOTER and MR BOMBPOP

SHERBERT INSPIRED DRINK AND ROLL SPECIALS
[WE GOT SOME GOOD DEALS FOR THOSE OF YOU WITH TIGHT BUDGETS]

HAPA CHERRY CREEK 2780 E. 2ND AVENUE [RIGHT BEHIND WHOLE FOODS]

*** if you came to the last one you know this event is a lot of fun and a good excuse to eat some sushi

****The next issue of SHERBERT is in the works right now and should be available for all around
the beginning of July, and you know there will be a killer party to celebrate it...

I'll try to come by yours on Friday...
tonystheme:
Yup! I was at the Andenken on Friday till like 11:30. Let's
see, I had a light blue/grey fitted t-shirt and pinstriped pants with my wing-tipped 8 hole Docs on.

Michelle's piece was in there, she's still workin' at RMCAD, I've seen Shannon's stuff before at the Annex, the woman who did the knitted pieces coming out of the tin enclosures had a show at the school gallery last fall I believe. It was comforting knowing so many of the showing artists. I'm usually so bad with names, too.

I came to the Andenken after they booted us out of the MCArt at *9*. That was a bit of a letdown, biggest night for them in two years - no food, no drink, close the museum by 9. Gah. A former teacher of mine, Bob Koons made it into the biennial, so a 'hell yeah' to him.

I'll see if I can make it on Sunday. My brother used to work at that place. I bet if I bleach my hair and wear dopey glasses like his, they'll all think I'm him and...do something.

Oh which one is your piece downstairs? It's not the phallic piece by the ramp, is it? wink If so, it rocks.

You weren't at the Andneken Halloween party, were you? I have to thank whoever dressed up as little red riding hood for the.., "magic" cookies.

I just did a pretty funny, random and childish thing:

I wrote a poem, made a card out of watercolor paper and painted it in guash and wrote the poem in the card using pen and ink, made a mix cd and wrapped both of those in a figure drawing I did. I then sealed it with a Suicide Girls sticker; wrote, F.Y.E.O on one...

I'll check some places out and give you my report wink

I think the Skylark on Weds is the place for the Rockabillys and Bettys. I've taken years of dance classes, so sometimes I have to dork out and do something like that.

I like to hit up 80's nights, just because I have some weird fascination with New Wave. Isn't New Wave night at the Snakepit on Wed? Looks like they're going to duke it out...

yeah, RIP Vinyl.

Ohhh no sign on the Crysilis, how so... Swingers smile
luluvixen:
80's night at the snake pit is Tuesdays... I have been thinking I might go this week... I love New Wave as well... I am really into all these bands that are kinda new wavy coming out lately (I am actually listening to The Faint's new wavy right now)

Friday nights at 60 south used to be pretty cool for music, but i haven't been in a while... I mostly hit the dirty punk rck bars for shows smile
