So just the other day I was playing road hockey with my boys and we were all discussing how fucking sure we were that winter was done. It was just way too nice outside for it ever to be cold again or snow for that matter... and now I roll outta bed at 3 p.m. to see a damn snowstorm!!! blah!!!
It makes me want to snowboard though, which just reminds me that I have left my snowboard at the shop for almost 2 months now - because I am lazier than a dead person.
Last night I had the pleasure of seeing Jeff Beck perform at the ACC, il have pictures up soon. Beck played with clapton which to many is absolutely absurd - considering the fact that Beck actually taught clapton how to play guitar and is leagues of leagues better than him. I went with my parents (moms idea) and we sat up in the 300's but my dads got a super powerful camera so some of the shots should turn out pretty cool. Beck was outstanding, as was his entire band which included a keyboard player, a bass player, drummer and en entire string and horn section WITH a conductor!! Such a nice treat.
The highlight of Becks set in my opinion was an incredible beatles medley that he played. No vocals at all - he has a way of making his guitar sing and breath just like you can do with some wind instruments - He played all the melodies on his guitar with the strings and horns backing him. I don't remember all the songs he played but it started out with "A Day in The Life" and came back to it in the end. It gave me goosebumps.
Clapton however put me right to sleep within about a song or 2 of his set. Sorry to any Clapton fans who read this, but that dude has lost his fire - it was the most uninspired performance I have ever seen.
The rib tatty is healin up well, altough it is itchy as all hell. I honestly think i hate the 2-3 week itch period while it heals more than the pain of getting tattood.
Time to mow down on some leftover roast and rice, little bit of pea sup and a fruit salad for desert. yay leftovers!!!
Then off to work at The Hideout
