Around the time I'd discovered the great bike trails around Rochester, NY and had found my first dilapidated salvation army bike with useless gears, probably in 04 the world of gearless biking was brought to my attention. And it didn't take long for the girl who'd helped me into riding fixed showed me a fantastic website, called theFGE.com.
The FGE, or The Fixed Gear Enthusiasts site was a site made by an avid female rider who felt there were enough pictures of 'hot girls' and bikes out there, and the tables should probably be turned and there needed to be a site FOR girls of guys in their underwear on their fixies and single speeds.

and honestly I'm surprised there's not an SG group in commemoration of guys and girls in their underwear on their fixies. [that's a different matter]
However it's influence lives on!
I was never actually on the site myself, though I aspired to. I was relatively new to riding a fixie, and still young and insecure. Not about my body per se, but about my underpants. Silly, you might think. Why would a guy be insecure about his underpants? I'll tell you why! Because if i'm going to be immortalized on a site like thefge I want to have on awesome underpants!!! I mean I bet SGs have to think about the same sorts of things when shooting a set right? Plus there was the whole thing of who the hell wants to shoot pictures of me in my underpants? but again, an aside.
So this led me to think deeper into the subject Women have such a vast variety of awesome undergarments, and what do guys have? boxers? tighty whities and boxer breifs? That doesn't really seem like a fair trade off to me. "oh hey sexy date wow you're totally rocking that awesome corse...here's me in my plaid boxers..." yeah sorry don't really think that evens out.
Even though this may be a battle where women will undoubtedly will come out on top [which isn't generally something i complain about] there's at least a few options out there for us dudes to not look totally bogus if we're going to be on a website wearing our underpants doing a track stand!
of course there's the american apparel option, with the colorful breifs and whatnot, though white elastic is kinda unappealing to me color wise:

In any event, this is an ongoing quest mind you, but In my travels I was able to find one underwear company specializing in goofy men's options [but has women's too] that over the years has had weird prints and colors [never white elastic! sweet!] and though they're expensive they have frequent 2 for 1 sales making them just as much as the AA ones.
I speak of the canadian company Ginch Gonch who make underpants like the ones seen in the picture below:
They change up their entire stock often though, so while a year or so ago i was able to get those ridiculous tiger ones and some equally retarded manties with an eagle emblazened on the crotch, they're not available on the site anymore...but you can get these awesome Totem Pole briefs.
and while i'm a big fan of ginch gonches [though they seem to not hold up so well if you wash them in a machine...blah] there's also some great etst stores out there as well! check out these guys and their: Mantys

So while men's undergarments still may be no match for the corset and thigh highs at least we can take a picture of ourselves sitting on our fixies that we can be sure will catch the eye of the womenfolk out there in internet land. or bedroom land as the case may be.

I get mine from ebay or this tailor here in LA that will make you a completely bespoke 60's style tonic suit for around $400. No joke.
i think i added you because you were from nyc and seemed cool. i don't think we've talked either. but regardless. we are now friends.
maybe you can get one of those guys who does custom designs on the street for hats and shoes to do something for underwear? just a thought.
