:: xanadu ::
i have just returned from a visit with my good friend frostedplacebo in the dirty south! 'twas a fun time as it always is! if you're ever in savannah georgia, definitely stop by mary's steakhouse on a tuesday or thursday for some totally classy kitsch, piano playing, and smoking bon bons!
my birthday was pretty fun too! and i plan on having an expos facto celebration here in Brooklyn, on the 30th at club europa for Hella! if you're in the 'hood say hi!!!
also also! on our search for the epic film, xanadu; i picked up a book called "punk love." i'm generally wary of punk books, movies, etc. i just feel like people telling us what punk is...defeats the purpose. this book however is pretty great! it's a collection of photos of the DC hardcore scene when rollins and mackaye [and his bro] were wee ones. everything was all in good fun and just getting goin. it's a lot of fun to look at and made me really nostalgic for all those community center shows i used to play with my ska band in syracuse. i might not have dropped 25 bucks on it if i didn't have a gift card, but i'm glad i've got it now! fun fun!
i also have been wearing a sweet rub on [neck] tat of a lady pirate that i'm going to pretend is real at my job interview tomorrow. twas a birthday gift!
