Well - here I am, back to normal, back in the office, back in the country...and by god i'm bored! :/

I think that's my biggest gripe about periods of manic work followed by something of a break - it's so damn hard to readjust! After 3 months of pretty solid work i'm now faced with the prospect of very little to do, so have...

It wouldn't be as good as the 'Holy Golf Course' novelty tape-dispenser from Father Ted, would it? If you've never seen Father Ted, ignore everything I've just said. biggrin

I hope you eventually manage to relax along with the sudden lightening of your workload, although it must be disconcerting. Have a good weekend. smile

Hi, it's such a shame you can't come to Notts after all, although I'm sure you'll be going somewhere more exciting instead. Still, there will be plenty more meets; of that you can be sure! smile

I'd be interested in having the room you booked, if that's ok. What type of room is it?

Bah! I haven't had a day off in over 3 weeks now - yes that includes weekends - anyone who tells you there is more to life than working is clearly a barefaced liar, clearly, yes, hhhmmmmm o_O

Something arrived to brighten my day slightly though, a pair of these little beauties, I get to see that lovely little start-up thing (or "ceremony" as the...

That's a relief then; at least it's a reward in itself somewhat.

Thank you for the compliment! kiss

In the supermarket last night I noticed something as I was stood in the queue, one of the items in my shopping, a pint of Channel Island Milk (drooooool!), had an "Allergy Advice" section printed on the label. And what piece of esoteric knowledge was imparted on it? It read; "contains milk" - on a pint of milk whatever

Who are they trying to protect with...

Very cool photos! I'd love to try snowboarding one day. The pocket coffee would be useful for a cold day at Uni. How cute? biggrin

As well as my regular input of quality anime (Bleach, One Piece) and derivative pish (Ichigo 100%, Ikki Tousen) I have recently been rewatching Escaflowne - and thoroughly enjoying it ^_^

Only comment i'll make though is to avoid watching the dubbed version; i'd forgotten how irritating Hitomi's voice was and, after only half an episode, was willing her to die...painfully. Certain bits at the...

Give me subtitles anyday. I hate English dubbing; they always manage to make it sound like a parody (think dubbing on Eurotrash) and it ends up undermining the integrity of the whole film. I made the mistake of allowing my ex to play Kung Fu Hustle on the English dubbed option because he 'doesn't like subtitles' and profoundly regretted it. I had to watch it all over again straight afterwards with subtitles, to get the full benefit of the film. smile

Shadow of the Colossus is a very pretty game indeed, slick gameplay too (as expected from the team behind ICO - one of the finest PS2 games ever imo), in fact i'd say that my only gripe is that, thus far, it's waaaaay too easy :/

Oh well, mustn't complain too much since I am really enjoying it smile

Had a thoroughly agreeable SG mini-meet today,...

You weren't crap at all. You were entertaining and to the point.

It was great to meet you. And even to be taken to the haven for the equivalent of Chocolate based crack.

I was awestruck by both the bridge and the nearly Newton's tree.

Top stuff.
iseult:
You do realise that I will be on the cocoa-crack's website from now until Judgement Day, don't you? Thank you for the link. biggrin

Have been playing this all week - and I adore it! o/

Be warned though, if you play this game the music will crawl inside your brain (possibly just like those evil wormy things in Star Trek somethingorother - I forget which one - they scared the bejeezus out of me when I was a kid though. Anyway...) and you'll catch yourself singing it for...

Woah, can't believe I sat here watching that link for as long as I just did!

Woohoo! 2 interesting links based around a subject I do enjoy churning through my little head; firstly a spiffy new webcomic entitled Dresden Codak, all rather witty and whatnot but this one in particular made me larf!

And then, moving on with the whole Uncertainty Principle theme, I found this

*sigh* why was Physics never this interesting at school? :/
iseult:
I initially loved physics at school, in fact it was my best subject. Micro-electronics and astronomy were my favourite areas. Unfortunately I hated my physics teacher, which completely ruined it for me.

I'm glad you can make the mini-meet, I think it'll be very pleasant. I hope you had fun snowboarding; I'd love to try that some day although one of my sisters broke her arm quite badly attempting to snowboard at the Tamworth Snowdome. She was appalling though.. smile

Well then it seems that we shall all converge. Now it is just a matter of details. I shall be pulling on my planning hat towards this weekend ready for the details.

Definitely looking forward to it. biggrin
