alright alright alright
i just beat final fantasy X-2 new years eve.
it was cool and all, but really subpar compared to its predecessor. i only got 74% story completion so i figure i was missing a good chunk of stuff that would have helped make some sense out of a few things. *warning, spoilers ahead* it also quite pissed me off that yuna didn't get to be with tidus again, yet she was a-ok with it... that's why she started this freakin quest in the first place... and the way you ended up having to save the world was pretty hackeyed. *spoilers done*
i liked a lot of other stuff about the game though. the battle system was way cool! very fast paced, which i thought i wouldn't like at first but soon found myself pulling off some sweet combos. and paine is still a foxy mc fox fox. also the visuals, even though kinda blocky at times where still really beautiful. i coulda done without a lot of the new music though, like the djose temple theme, and the airship songs ICK! also vegnagun was a frickin pushover much like sin was. why can't final fantasy have hardcore enemys like sephiroth or ultimacia again? i beat vegnagun no problem my first time... it took me about 8 times (and about 5 more levels) to finally beat sephiroth, talk about weak sauce.
this game ranks about the same as final fantasy 5 with me... maybe a little higher, but it's about number 5 in my least favorite final fantasies.
tony hawk underground however has been a smash to play, especially since i made my skater with my face and everything. i just think it kinda sucks that the only tattoo i have that's available to put on your skater in the game (my kanji for pain) i can't put it where i have it. i've also been getting thourougly worked in online play, which sucks cos i'm still pretty sick at tony hawk, but there's way to many people out there who're way better than me... weak.
now i'm gonna go off to play prince of persia, or metroid prime... late sauce.
