The trip sounds interesting, at least. I don't know that I could be comfortable simply going on vacation to a place like Vietnam (or any developing country) - I'd feel too exploitative. I don't hate John Kerry as a candidate. I think he represents more or less generic democrat-ness. Part of the issue is that he doesn't have stable stands on most issues, so you're basically voting for the general Dem approach to things if you vote for Kerry. But right now I think that that's significantly preferable to Bush, however the details work out.
