Well, umm, ok, I haven't been here for almost an indecently long time, but, you know, stuff has been happening.
The last thing I wrote was to report that my Dad had died. Thats receding now, but I miss my Dad, often for the funny little things. My Dad kept rainfall records on his farm for the Met Service for over 50 yrs (he was proud of that, he had the long service certificate they sent him framed) and one of our conversational topics was the weather. You know, "Gosh, it hasn't rained for a month now, it sure is getting dry", or, "Did you get that rain last night - it rained all night here". When it rains for more than a day I think of him.
I miss my wife too, although I am moving on with my life, as they say (more on that later). Little things still bring tears to my eyes, and I have CD's I can't play anymore. I have songs that I used to sing to her that I generally can't finish without my voice breaking up - "Beside You" by Mr D Dobbyn, and "Anchor Me" by The Muttonbirds.
My next post will be a bit happier, cos, actually, some good stuff has been happening too.
