well...as y'all may have figured out by now..i suck at updating, so to get 2 in 2 days...crazy. but this set has a lot of backstory and fun facts...so here we go....
Alexis - A Taste of Wheaton
- there we were, alexis, ymonster, my wife morgan and me...driving a rental car thru the backwoods of ONT on our way to twwly and vonscotch's wedding. alexis and i have been trying to figure out what to shoot for the last couple months..."we need to shoot a mini-set tribute to wilwheaton!" says alexis, "like 10 shots - it should make his day!" well, we drove some more, drank more tim horton's coffee, listened to more canadian rock radio...and the plan started to take shape. "would he do the intro?" asked ymonster. "i sure hope so...that would be bad-ass to shoot a full set", i piped in. "who's wil wheaton?" my non-scifi watching wife asked. so...plans were laid, figures were aquired, alexis e'd wil to see if it was ok to do a tribute set and the date was booked.
- alexis designed and had made all the wilwheaton has a posse gear. ebay provided the mug, mag and the figures.
- this was shot on the same day as maxi's date set and ember's nova set...quite a good day to be steve in philly. those 3 prob. are 3 of my favorite people.
- hwallbanger wrangled the figures and art directed, anteros as usual was driver, location security, cat entertainment and drinker of coffee, alexis did all the photoshopping for the set.
- y'all can blame me for the high-fives...needless to say, i was giggling the entire time when we set those shots up.
- the shot with wil up against the glass was done with scotch tape and a lot of cursing from mr wallbanger.
- first time working with action figures and needless to say, next time - i'm bringing more tape, fishing line, stapler, crazy glue and other implements of manipulation to ensure those little bastards stay where they are supposed to stay.
- to quote alexis's journal comment just now - "I said saucy, not exorcist!!!"...bwahahahaha! i had wil's head turned to give a "saucy" look over his shoulder in one of the shots and when i was explaining what i was looking for to mr 'banger for another shot later in the set...he had twisted wil's head almost all the way around and looked like reagan from exocist about to vomit green pea soup. thx for reminding me of that!
thanks again to alexis and wilwheaton for the set and everyone who left cool comments...it's nice to see alexis back on the action figure tip.
yay!
on a side note - i am still crazed with the transition of my fulltime dayjob becoming parttime and thanks for having patience while waiting for sets, proof galleries and setting up shoots. i can see the light at the end of the tunnel...i swear.
