evening update: a major thunderstorm is passing through the area. the three of us were packed into the pickup for a trek to home depot... and right as we got there, the clutch more or less gave out. there also happened to be a torrential downpour at this time. so, we skipped home depot and made the drive back home in second gear and blindingly thick rain.
we made it back safe, obviously enough... i remember thinking, while putzing along at 20mph, that it was an adventure of sorts... granted, it isn't my vehicle to be concerned about, so that makes things a bit easier on the consciousness... but, i mean, thinking of the fact that all three of us were packed into a pickup truck, and right as we got to our destination, not only does a massive thunderstorm break... but the clutch goes as well... you don't hear about that stuff in everyday life, normally...
thinking it'd be nice to go into town and relax on a sofa and drink coffee... but, it seems to be that they haven't adopted soft chairs at any of the cafes...

yeah, i guess church is out of the question. i brewed up a pitcher of iced tea at st. leo's once, and everyone was giving me the ol' stink eye. guess the stirring noises were "bringin' the folks down". those pews are damn uncomfortable too. makes a cruxifix feel like a damn postur-pedic!
