A thunderstorm has been hanging around all day... it's been incredible to see/hear one of those once again. Fireflies too are a pleasure to see.

It was so quiet earlier today, around noon. Almost as if it had snowed.

Painting the library today. Spent a good two hours boxing up books. The paint isn't exactly what I would call a good color... kind of a puke/shit green, but with an air of sage. Better than plain white, I suppose.

Step-mother kindly informed me that she's planned for me to go to her company picnic tomorrow and drive the little train for a bunch of kids, some with some "scary" (her word) mental illnesses... this coming from a woman who's job for the past twenty years has revolved around disabilities and illnesses. Right. That's assuring. Doubt I'll go... for a variety of reasons... but mostly, I know I won't have fun and I don't feel like being paraded around as her "son"

I hope to god I can get ahold of some of my old friends out here... otherwise, it'll be a lonely three weeks.
