One of the things I enjoyed the most about reading psychology papers was that a lot of the papers had their typical dry, self-indulgent airy academic rambling... but, tucked between the lines, was clearly written: we're all fucked.
we all have our neurosis... we all have our habits that we're ashamed of, but will never quit... we all have psychological quirks that any sane person would run away from (screaming, at that)... it's just that we're all so preoccupied with hiding those... well... they don't get shown (a weird little action/reaction)...
