Ah man, I'm ack in Bangkok relaxing a little more until I head to the Full Moon party in the south.
I spent a solid week in Kathmandu, and i must return or a minimum of a month.
I went for the wrong reason, I went to meet up with a girl I met in August... She knocked my socks off!
I ended up enjoying the time without her more than with her. Don't get me wrong she is ABSO FUCKING LUTELY AMAZING. that is neither here nor there, this isn't a blog about seeing if there is something there.
How often in a single day can you break bread and share strong drink with a literally Russian outlaw? His name is Micheal, He has horrible teeth, but really is a wonderful person. He told us about how Russian life is, then how hes been in Nepal or 7 months b/c of falsified drug charges against him. We talked about more interesting things than just those few, I love traveling because of people like him.
Later I was at a bar eating a Yak steak (tasty might I add) and I met an old hippy couple. Roger, he Describes himself as " The only Nepali Dead Head" we chatted about growing up in the country, How his father at one point had been a big game hunter in India. We stayed out drinking and smoking(them not I , I do not partake) until the bar owners kicked us out at 2am. (local law shuts everyone down at midnight)
Nepali food agrees with me very much, even though it is severely lacking on the carnivorous front that is 75% of my diet.
I spent a week in what I later found out was a double charged decent hotel, I drank moonshine and Nepali whiskey and beer from about 2pm until 2am almost every night (unless I was with the girl I went to see, When I was around here I didn't want to drink at all. I felt that more than merited the trip)
The entire week cost me 200 US dollars (excluding airfare of course)
I haven't even talked about goign to the markets or the small, MINUSCULE treks I did.
GO SEE FOR YOURSELF! it's amazing.
