This week the lovely @lyxzen and the magical @missy asked us to share our confidence boosting secrets. Typically I'm a very positive person, I just think life is far too short to stay upset for long. But even the most positive person has moments of self-doubt, anxiety, and worry. So when I find myself having a hard time kicking the blues I turn to these little tricks, maybe you guys and gals do some of them too!
First things first, if my apartment is dirty I clean it. It works on a lot of levels for me. It's a simple task with pretty much instant gratification. It also serves to help me clear my mind.
Second is music. Cleaning and music go hand in hand for me. Dance cleaning is really the only way to clean. Usually I put on something really upbeat, with a very positive or independent message. Something like Cut/Copy, Robyn, Purity Ring, even Taylor Swift's Shake it Off gets thrown into that mix. So if the apartment is already clean, I just jam out.
Third is running, or any sort of workout. Again the music here is key, and I find running to be another excellent way to clear my mind. I literally envision myself running away from all my doubt and worry. After a good workout I feel like I have the energy to do anything and the confidence to translate that energy into reality.
And after all of that I take a nice long shower and step out afterwards feeling all fresh and presh and ready to fuck shit up!
