Hope everyone had a Happy Festivus! I sure enjoyed the feast of strengths and airing my grievances. Whatever you celebrate, I hope it was a good one for you. I just wanted to share what Dark Stripe Media and I shot for the holidays! Of course Gaius had to make an appearance. Here are some more Christmas goodies for you all.
Monday was my work Christmas party, which was a total blast. My boss gave out a round of shots with 'Most Likely to..' and mine was perfect! I feel really lucky to work with such awesome people.
I went to the cinema twice this week. Once to see The Hobbit, which was amazing, and then again on Christmas to see The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, which I really loved. Christmas Eve day I baked a shit ton of cookies and brownies, made truffles, and guacamole for my annual Christmas party held on Christmas night!
Christmas Eve I have the tradition of drinking wine and watching the best Christmas movie ever. DIE HARD!! It's one of my most favourite parts of the holidays.
Christmas morning was all about eating a giant breakfast and drinking mimosas. Another excellent tradition. But Christmas night is always my favourite. Since pretty much all of my family lives in Canada and I'm in Atlanta, and because work makes it hard for me to travel home for the holidays, ever since I left my mums house, I have felt a little lonely on Christmas. So what started out eight years ago as me inviting a small group of friends over to drink wine after the hecticness of family times, has now evolved into a huge party every year, and most peoples favourite part of Christmas. Some of these people I won't see for a whole year because of the business of life, but Christmas night they are there. Knocking at my door, giving me hugs, showing me that a family is more than blood. There is the family you're born into, and there is the family you make along the way, and the family I have made along the way is better than I could ever imagine. To me, Christmas is what you make it, and these people make it magical for me year after year. Plus they were all super awesome to squish onto my couch for this picture. We had to move a table and I had to stand in my hallway, but I got everyone in it! And that is the absolute best thing I got for Christmas this year.
I did also get this instax camera, which made the above picture possible, so that was pretty dope.
So I hope you all got everything you wanted this year! I'm so looking forward to 2014! But! Before the year is done, I still have a weekend of parties. My Birthday is this Sunday and I'm kicking it off tomorrow night with a superhero themed dance party at The Shelter! Which is an amazing club I used to bartend at, and since the co-owner and I have the same birthday we throw a joint party! It's gonna be awesome. Then Sunday night I'm getting together with a group of friends at my most favourite pub in Decatur! I'm not sure about Saturday, but I'll figure that out later. Anyways, until next time loves! Happy hunting!
