This year I went down to PDX to work with "Instant Film Specialist" Rich Burroughs a.k.a. @richpdx. Rich's incredible Polaroid portfolio features Lauren WK, Alysha Nett, and even our very own @radeo. When Rich first reached out to work with lil ol me, I seriously jumped up and down!
There is something about analog photography that is almost sport-life. It requires a tremendous amount of talent, and control on the part of the photographer, and an abundance of self confidence for the model. There is no photoshop in film! To me that is both the challenge and the allure.
For me modelling has always been an outlet to explore creativity, and create beauty. To have reached the point in my career, that I feel confident on film, is a major accomplishment! While I love the freedom that digital photographer allows the model and photographer to play out ideas, and toy with concepts, time, and finish, I adore the "quick n dirty" feel of film.
Perhaps it's just the athlete in me ;)
Do you love it?!?
