WoW is an awesome game; just be prepared for the addiction. 
You lose most of your social life but hey! You definately save alot more money because you eat less, smoke less and spend less time going out and spending money on movies/bars/clubs/etc. lol 
It is definately worth getting right now because you could still lvl your char up to 60 before the expansion comes out. And there is still plenty to do in game once you reach 60 as well. PvE you got the end game instances like Molten Core and Blackwing Lair not to mention various world dragons and bosses. PvP you have the Battlegrounds and a decent ranking system. Better gear with either of those options.

What a very pleasent evening. Went to Tucson with friends to watch Les Miserables. I had forgotten how much enjoyment I get from seeing plays. Perhaps next time I'll stop at the Hotel Congress for drinks.
