Elf Needs Sleep Badly
Im in over my head
Too much on my plate
Spread way too thin
I complained for so long that I had nothing to do
That I was bored
As a result I took too much on
Agreed to too much
But I cant cancel
But I need some rest
I get involved and then Im out till midnight and later (which, for someone who wakes up at 5:30 every morning, is way past my bedtime)
I dont just stay up though
I stay up and I drink
I dont recover the way I used to
And I need my sleep
Beauty or otherwise
Shows
Concerts
Drinks
Dinners
Movies
I dont remember the last time I was in my apartment when I didnt just get home and was getting ready to either go out or go to sleep
I just need to make it through this week
3 shows
2 dinners
1 banjo lesson
1 tattoo appointment
Add in two instances where I must fulfill sibling responsibilities
Mix that in with one friend visiting from Texas that I never get to see
Then theres the mandatory 50 hours of work
Plus 10 hours of commuting
Im left with another week of zero sleep
Then there are the other responsibilities that Ive let go
My laundry has been sitting in the Laundromat since Tuesday when I actually ran out of socks and presentable t-shirts
My cellphone doesnt vibrate anymore so I have no idea when Im getting a phone call because I never hear it; so i have to fix that
Netflix movies are piled next to my television
The supermint (yes, its a word) Simpsons season six dvd set that I bought that includes:
Marge: Have you noticed something about Bart?
Homer: New glasses?
Marge: No. It seems like something could be troubling him.
Homer: Probably misses his old glasses.
Marge: I want to get more involved in Bart's activities, but then I'd be afraid of smothering him.
Homer: Yeah, and then we'd get the chair.
Marge: That's not what I meant.
Homer: Admit it Marge, it was.
Its my favorite season (Look at how cool the box is)

More banjo practice how am I supposed to be a superstar if I dont get to practice?
Hmmm?
And while Im writing all this
Complaining about my lack of free time
Someone gave me Yankee tickets for Monday
And I agreed to at least one dinner and possibly show
Im getting sleepy just talking about this
Of course, none of this means that I'm not going to do anything I said I would
I'm going to do it all
And then complain how tired I am
