Havent been writing much here lately
Maybe I just have nothing to vent about
Not so much complain, mind you
But just venting
Complaining just to complain - that would be easy
Theres always something to bitch about
Like the fact that every week, by Thursday, the deli I stop in every day no longer has Orbit Citrusmint
Youd think by now theyd just buy more gum
But alas I go without my gum once or twice a week
So there it is
Bitching about gum
Sure
It's inconsequential
I'm complaining here just to complain
But I know on Friday
Im going to walk in that deli
And Im going to be forced to buy Orbit Spearmint or God forbid Wintergreen
And be without my gum
And its just going to fuck up my day
Sorry to use a cuss word but I felt that it was appropriate in this case
I guess I could continue in this fashion
But I just dont feel like it today
Anyway
A few things before I go:
If you have Limewire (or whatever music stealing program you kids use nowadays) see if you can find "Worried Mary" by Old Crow Medicine Show
Its off the Greetings From Wawa album thats out of print and impossible to get unless youre willing to drop $200 on ebay
Its a great song
Single voice and banjo
Eerily depressing
Also
If you get the chance
Check out:
"Cold and Dead" William Elliot Whitmore off of Hymns for the Hopeless
Its an a cappella track
Gave me chills the first time I heard it
Check out The Sword and Priestess
Priestess Hello Master (which might only be out in Canada)
The Sword Age Winters comes out in February (the 14th to be exact)
It makes a great Valentines Day gift
They both have a Pentagram/Sabbath/High on Fire thing going on
Theyre on tour with Early Man and theyll be around here the second weekend in March
Going to the see them will make you a better person
Speaking of shows in March:
My personal favorite, the supersweet, the mighty Pig Destroyer is playing two shows:
At North Six in bklyn on the 3rd
And the Knitting Factory on the 4th
Both shows are with Whitehouse and Wolf Eyes
Also coming around soon:
Municipal Waste (Featuring Dave Witte) 2 shows this Saturday 1/28 3pm @ ABC & 8pm @ North Six
High on Fire w/ The Bronx, Buried Inside, Big Business @ Bowery 2/3
Behold...The Arctopus @ Knitting Factory (down in the Tap Bar I think) 2/9
Black Dahlia Murder, Throwdown, the Red Chord, & the Agony Scene @ Avalon 2/27
Witch (Featuring J Mascis) @ North Six 3/23
Im going to try and see as many of these as I can
Though if I remain true to form
I'll buy tickets for most of these and never go

I think you look a little like the guy in that tattoo, without your beard.
