My Comforter Is Apparently A Duvet
Saturday I woke up at 9 in the morning
Probably because I got home from the bar at the 3
The later I stay out drinking
The earlier I wake up
Seeing as how I was up early I figured I might as well get something accomplished
I dropped off my laundry at the laundromat
(I realized that its not the act of washing and drying the clothes that bothers me about doing my own laundry. Its the folding that gets to me. I spend 45 minutes washing and drying. Or, more accurately, watching the machines wash and dry my clothes. And then spend an hour and a half folding t-shirts and matching socks. This always results in the last 5-10 t-shirts not being folded properly, if at all, because by that point Im fed up and just want to go home.)
Seeing as how it wasnt yet 10am I got on the subway and went to buy pillows and sheets since I apparently threw those away when I moved
I go into Bed, Bath, & Beyond
And I cant find the bedding
I found the kitchen shit
I found the bath stuff
But no bedding
Its the first one, damnit
I found an escalator and took it downstairs
Slowly I started to find everything I needed
Im walking around carrying two pillows, two packages of pillow-cases and a fitted sheet
Looking for a comforter cover
After 45 minutes I couldnt find any
I was about ready to just buy a new comforter
I walked up to a woman standing at the bottom of the escalator and I asked, "Can you tell me where the comforter covers are? Im this close to throwing a fit."
She had a puzzled look on her face. "A duvet cover? Is that what youre looking for?"
"Is that a comforter cover?"
"Yes. Theyre over" She started to point to the corner and I stopped her.
"Ive walked by them 100 times already. Thank you."
Where they always called duvet covers?
Is my comforter a duvet now?
I grabbed the first one that I saw that didnt have flowers and sailboats on it and started searching for the checkout
Now Im walking around the store carrying two pillows, two pack of pillow cases, a fitted sheet and a duvet cover
All of which I can barely hold on to
The same male ego trait that stopped me from asking directions to the store when I got off the subway and the same trait that made me walk around the store like an asshole looking for duvet covers or comforter covers or whatever theyre called now, kept me from getting a shopping cart when I walked in
Now I still have to go back
To get more pillows
And curtains
Or do I need drapes?
I also need a step stool
Or a ladder
The light bulb in my bedroom blew out and Im too short to reach it
