This past year has thrown all sorts of interesting challenges my way, and it really has got me thinking..... what is positivity and what has helped me feel good? Here is my checklist to achieve self-love.... it may not be everyone's cup of tea but it's worked for me!
1. Become totally happy and comfortable in your own skin, regardless of your size, shape, sexuality or gender; becoming a member of Suicide Girls has helped me realise this. You should never be ashamed of who you are or what you look like... always love yourself.
2. Remove all toxicity and negativity from your life. Surround yourself with people who have a similar mindset to you, be supportive but also don't let others drag you down. "Not everyone will understand your journey; that's okay. You're here to live your life, not to make others understand."
3. Look after yourself. Be a little selfish and let self care become a priority in your life. Eat chocolate, take a bubble bath, have a glass of wine, breathe and relax; stress is detrimental to your health, and it won't help you mentally or physically in the long run!
4. Do something that you find fun, whatever it may be. Whether that's playing an instrument, going to the pub, going for a walk- anything that you really really enjoy!! I'm lucky to own a fantastic pony, who is literally 30 seconds from my front door... I have tonnes of fun riding and spending time with him every day (he's an amazing listener!!) .
