While a number of things in my life have been chaotic and somewhat unhappy, I successfully defended my thesis today and am now headed off to take written comprehensive exams in 2 weeks and then oral comps a week later. Then, hopefully, it's off to PhD land and writing my dissertation.

So, all in all, it's been a really good day, and I'm hoping to have many more after this one.
