today marks the end of the first real vacation i've had in many, many years. it was also the first road trip vacay i've been on in more years than i care to remember. my fiance, PaisleyPony, and i packed our bags and hit the road heading out to clarksville, tennessee. from where i live in north carolina it's at least a 12 hr. drive. definitely the most i've ever driven during a single day.
we headed out to go see some friends we haven't seen in a while and got to stay the whole week exploring new places and tasting new foods. there were some interesting antique shops, and a lot of the usual touristy type restaurants and shops, as well as a few places that we just don't have around here (white castle ftw!!!). but mainly it was all about having fun with friends and just trying to relax, so on that point, it was mission accomplished. at least i can relax for the rest of the weekend and recuperate before heading back to the office on tuesday.
