I've got two things to report ...
1) I saw one of the weirdest , most morbidly fascinating things I have ever seen in my entire life today . On my way to work each day I pass by a cemetary . Today as I was going to work it was all rainy and cloudy out and the cemetary was just generally creepy looking . Then I noticed the little detail that made it just plain...BIZARRE . There's this big gnarled old tree that grows in said creepy cemetary . As it is winter the limbs are all bare and skeletal looking . That , in and of itself , isn't creepy . The fact that there were about ten REALLY big black birds roosting in the tree was . I thought they were just crows , but as I got closer I realized that they were WAY too big . They were VULTURES . I shit you not . A whole fucking flock of big-ass black vultures roosting in a scary gnarled old tree in a creepy cemetary on a cold stormy day . I actually stopped my car and just stared . I mean...that's just not normal . That's not even normal if it's Halloween...in Transylvania . That's just a horror movie waiting to happen is what that is . The odd thing was that it was strangely beautiful . I think the fact that there was just all of this bleak imagery all clumped into one spot like that was just strangely hypnotic . I kicked myself in the ass the whole way to work for not having a camera .
2) This story is to be filed under the "No matter how bad you think your job sucks , it can ALWAYS get worse " category . Now I bitch and complain about my job on a regular basis as do most people . It's human nature . Yesterday , however , it got a million times worse . When I got there I noticed that these little storm drains that they have in the building were all pooled up with water . So I call the maintenance guy . He then calls some professional plumbers . The plumbers arrive and start to snake one of the drains out . What happened next can best be described as a "Geyser of sewage" erupting from the drain . This flood of foul smelling nasty brown water just starts spewing out of the drain and all over the floor . By the time the plumbers got a suction hose hooked up to it there was a lake of filth expanding over the back part of the building . The plumbers eventually fixed the problem , but for the rest of the day it smelled like I was working inside of the bottom of a Port-A-Potty .
I'm off to the lovely crime ridden streets of Detroit for two weeks this weekend on a business trip . Anybody going to be out that way for any reason ? Is so , look me up . I'll be the guy enjoying all of the excess strippers that were left behind after the Super Bowl . Mmmmmm....leftover strippers .
