I just saw the movie "Grizzly Man" a couple of days ago . There was some brilliant wildlife photography and Werner Herzog put together a really well made documentary about this fruitcake who goes out in the Alaskan wilderness to live with enormous and deadly bears . Does it make me a bad person to think that when this nutjob got eaten by the very bears that he thought he could bond with I couldn't help but laugh ? Now I'm not some unfeeling monster , but this is just such an utterly perfect slice of irony . This kind of thing just NEVER happens to the people it should happen to . Of course one could present the argument that nobody SHOULD ever be eaten by a massive grizzly bear , but then I would counter said argument by pointing a finger at pretty much every member of our government . Think about it . The Crocodile Hunter has jumped on , taunted , or cuddled with thousands of flesh ripping saltwater crocodiles , venemous snakes , or other deadly creatures and he's still alive to do Subway commercials . UNFAIR . Rich bored yuppies pay thousands of dollars to go on vacations where they willingly dive with man-eating sharks in the ocean , and an obscenely large number of them return to discuss the "Rush" they felt around the water cooler with the other dipshits who they work with . UNFAIR . So now this guy who TRULY believes that he can win the love of a wild carnivore by giving them cute names like "Burly Bear" and "Sgt. Brown" gets attacked and eaten by the afore mentioned wild carnivore in what some would call a senseless tragedy . This restores my faith that there IS justice in this world .
